Head and Neck Tumors
Ninety percent of head and neck cancers arise after prolonged exposure to tobacco or alcohol. Other forms of head and neck cancer can develop from sun exposure, human papillomavirus (HPV), and from other forms of cancers that may have spread to the head and neck. Successful treatment depends on early detection. If you have any of the following symptoms or are a patient that has a history of high-risk factors, it would be beneficial to see an ENT.
Symptoms of head and neck cancer:
- A lump in the neck
- Change in the voice
- Growth in the mouth
- Bringing up blood
- Changes in the skin
- Persistent earache
